Raaz-e-ulfat
With Ramadan being the month of forgiveness and purification of body, mind, and soul, Geo Television and 7th Sky Entertainment have put the very essence of this month into their drama series Makafaat which has arrived with its second season this year. Here is what you can look forward to in this series.
Why is empathy important?
This short series helps us picture how our society really operates. It exposes us to morally complex situations on screen so that we can be better prepared to take the right steps in similar situations. Empathy is putting yourself in someone else’s shoes. Developing it contributes to developing our character.
Reality check
Makafaat is a wake-up call to reconsider our decisions. Oftentimes our decisions that lack empathy leads us to consequences that cannot be undone.
Repentance of sin
The series reminds us of times we might have treated someone unfairly, which can help us seek forgiveness. Our dear Prophet (PBUH) said that: “The best of creation, would seek repentance over 70 times a day; repentance from a sin reduces its sweetness — it discourages you from doing it again.”
Self-purification
We won’t be able to purify our soul unless we open our hearts to the purity of intention. The drama series Makafaat teaches us to free our hearts of spiritual sins such as greed, malice, envy, arrogance, and worldliness.
Adopt spiritual value
Makafaat carries life lessons that encourage us to adopt the values of generosity, compassion, benevolence, humility, and asceticism.
The series has been penned by Saqlain Abbas, Huma Hina Nafees, Rehan Zaheer Siddiqui, Anwar Gillani, Wajiha Warsi, Samina Ejaz, Umar Qazi, Ramia Salma, Farzana Imran, and Mehrunnisa Mustaqeem Khan, and is directed by Saleem Ghanchi (who also helmed the series last year).
Makafaat airs every day at 7:00 PM as part of Geo TV’s Ehsaas Ramzan transmission.
You can catch the OST and episodes of Makafaat on Har Pal Geo’s YouTube channel here. Don’t forget to subscribe to our social media pages on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to get the latest updates on Makafaat and other shows.
