Can Khajistah stand up to new challenges on her own?

Actress Hiba Bukhari’s performance as a strong protagonist in Meray Humnasheen is making big waves with her thought-provoking dialogues. The girl we saw striving for admission in a medical college outside her village began her journey a few episodes ago.

With 9 episodes out so far, this Seventh Sky Entertainment presentation has depicted how Khajistah is now being made to tackle competitiveness from her peers, who happen to have their own emotional complexes.

While her motivation, resilience, courage and straightforwardness have been among the key takeaways, the other characters have also been striking a chord with the audience as the story unfolds— hinting at insecurities of all those who envy Khajistah. Here’s a rundown.

Darakhzai’s insecurities

Darakhzai cannot help but take Khajistah’s ambitions personally, given the fact that he never tried to finish his schooling and they’re actually incompatible.

Hassan’s anger issues

His insecurities have more to do with the expectations his family has set, making him seem less likeable than his elder brother Haadi. The matter of egos gets worse when he crosses paths with Khajistah.

Aima’s possessiveness

Aima feels entitled to love and attention from her cousin, Haadi, and that’s where the trouble begins.

Shanzeh’s trust issues

Shanzeh reacts strongly to anything that has to do with her husband’s cousin, Khajistah, due to the void in her marriage. Seeing Amroz avenge the love of his life over family rivalry while he continues to be Khajistah’s support system is indeed heartbreaking.

Despite plenty of ill-wishers in Khajistah’s life, the female protagonist is tackling her problems with resilience and confidence.

Shahzad Sheikh’s role as Hadi has also garnered much love from the audience for rushing to Khajistah’s defense every time someone troubles her. Unfortunately, Hadi fails to realise that his admiration for Khajistah itself is enough to provoke Aima or Hasan, or even Darakhzai. A recent episode hinted at the extent Darakhzai can go to in order to control Khajistah as he stormed into the girls’ hostel to bring back his fiancée and waved his handgun at the staff.
