synopsis

Consanguineous marriages- those between blood relatives are common in several parts of the world .It is ironic that social norms in our society limit the meeting of the opposite gender outside the family. This very fact of inter-familial marriages is alarmingly high and hence so is the incidence of children born with birth defects.
Armughan & Hafza , married cousins , are Thalassemia minor patients. Their daughter Farhia is also diagnosed with the same fateful disease. The unfortunate family is capable of affording it’s expensive medical treatment. At a later stage in life they manage to get Farhia out of Thalassemic claws by buying out a compatible bone marrow donor .For Armughan’s household that’s a stroke of luck and what money could do but unfortunately for Irshad Juice Wallah’s grandson Umer, battling the same congenital disorder ,life is in a sorry state.
Poor as he is, Irshad is unable to make his ends meet, let alone paying bills of pricey therapy for Umer. The story of Vacuum runs a gamut of different emotions, setbacks and an endless struggle to survive .A strong message on steering clear off inter-family marriages and the unfortunate divide between the upper & lower class in the society we live in today!
